What we think about God determines the emotional, psychological and relational state of our lives. True and accurate thoughts about God’s nature and our nature are essential to a successful life. The Bible is our primary source for understanding truth about the nature of God and ourselves.

The Bible needs to be studied to be properly understood.

Bible study is more than memorizing a few verses. Good Bible study brings an understanding of the “big picture”.

  • Why do I exist?
  • What is my purpose in this life?
  • How is true happiness found and maintained?
  • What is God like?
  • What are His intentions for me?

The Bible answers all of these questions and more such as:

  • Where does my comfort come from in hard times?
  • What is a life well lived?

Studying the Bible is not just an intellectual pursuit. When we study the Bible with a heart to know God, His Spirit interacts with us through the words of the Bible in such a way that we begin to EXPERIENCE the truths the Bible talks about. This brings a spiritual life from God which actually begins to free us from the damage life brings and transforms us into the person God originally designed us to be.

There is no fulfillment that can match that found as God “restores” us to the beautiful person He designed us to be. The Bible plays an indispensable role in this process of freedom and restoration.
